I usually travel along the coast from south to north, passing through San Diego, Los Angeles, and then Santa Barbara. I often stop at Port San Luis - it's quiet there, nature, and almost no bustle. But the amenities there are not very good. I want to find a marina where you can normally take a shower, refuel, and go to a cafe, without having to go far from the dock. Who can advise what, especially in the San Francisco Bay area?

I always try to look for marinas not only with infrastructure, but also with soul. I stopped once in a small marina near Monterey - the owners gave me coffee, helped me with pump repair and told me where to go to the ocean. Such places are closer to me than purely technical parking lots. No place without amenities, though - especially a shower after a long crossing is appreciated!
Last year my wife and I took a spontaneous sea trip along the coast and stumbled upon https://marinabayharbor.com/ quite by accident, and it was the best “occasion” of the whole summer. The facilities were excellent: showers, wifi, easy access to the shore, car hire nearby - everything you need after a few days on the open sea. We were especially pleased that we could go in for short stays, overnight stays, and even the opportunity to re-supply. Now we plan our route so that a stop there is mandatory - the place is really addictive.
